Meet Dr. Jan Bell

Dr. Janet Bell is an accomplished educator, spiritual leader, and administrator with extensive experience in academia, ministry, and community engagement. As an adjunct professor, she has taught courses on world religions, developed innovative curricula, and fostered academic success among diverse student populations. With a strong foundation in humanities, leadership development, and program design, Dr. Jan Bell has also served as a chaplain, providing compassionate spiritual care to multicultural communities during challenging times such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Her dedication to mentorship, curriculum development, and cultural sensitivity has consistently elevated her impact across educational and spiritual settings.
​In addition to her teaching and administrative roles, Dr. Bell has held leadership positions in multiple churches, where she spearheaded outreach initiatives, managed program budgets, and guided individuals through counseling and spiritual development. She is an experienced Disaster Response Coordinator and combines practical expertise with academic insight to address the needs of diverse communities. Dr. Bell holds a Doctor of Ministry in Urban Ministry and a Master of Divinity from Southern Methodist University, Perkins School of Theology. She is a past member of the SMU Perkins Alumni Association and an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
